Gearbox Labs, Inc. was founded in 2019 by Peter Haydock of Hingham WI, USA and Isabel Mendiola of Monterrey Mexico as a charitable company to publish Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) curricular resources for K-12 students, afterschool programs, and self-directed learners.
Gearbox Labs also provides professional services to schools, districts, and individuals including professional development for teachers, residency programs for classrooms, online courses, and consultations to school districts.
Peter and Isabel have nearly 50 years combined of education and educational publishing award winning experience having worked for schools, museums, publishers and content developers.

Gearbox Labs will support CodeCreates’ efforts to rollout The ARDUINO® Classroom: STEAM Edition and subsequent publications, kits, online courses, and professional development. This exclusive representation partnership will allow Gearbox Labs to reach all of the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.
CodeCreates is a UK based organisation who deliver inspirational and creative STEM orientated workshops to young people principally based around microcontroller boards, they also supply innovative STEM products and kits to schools, educators, youth groups and consumers. Seeking a collaborative partner who had created and developed unique content with regard to the Arduino open source electronics platform, through social media they became aware of Gearbox Labs based in the US. From the first meeting with Peter Haydock and Isabel Mendiola of Gearbox Labs it became apparent that they have a wealth of experience in the education, content and technology space and have built a superb curriculum, range of books, kits and resources utilising the Arduino boards. Most importantly for CodeCreates they are passionate about driving awareness and engagement with regard to STEM within both school and home settings, a core value for Debbie Goodwill the owner of CodeCreates.
